SGPC’s Junior Vice President Principal Surinder Singh Passes Away

Sri Anandpur Sahib: SGPC’s junior vice president Principal Surinder Singh passed away during the intervening night of June 13 and 14 due to heart attack. He was 66 years old and is survived by his wife Bhupinder Kaur, son Amandeep Singh and daughter Inderpreet Kaur.

His funeral pyre will be consigned to flames today at Charan Ganga Shamshan Ghat in Sri Anandpur Sahib.

Sources have informed that Principal Surinder Singh suffered of heart attack during the late evening hours of June 13 after which he was taken to Bhai Jaita Ji Civil Hospital where the doctors declared him dead at 12:18 am.

Principal Surinder Singh spent all his life in preaching Sikhism. Beginning from 1973, he served in the special Gurmat Sangeet Academy for Blinds in Sri Anandpur Sahib till 1992.

In 1995, he founded the Sikh Missionary College, Sri Anandpur Sahib and remained serving as its principal till now.

In 2011, he had successfully contested SGPC elections from the reserved seat of Sri Anandpur Sahib (Dohra) on SAD’s ticket.
