MANSA: Lakhs of people and fans of legendary Punjabi singer Subhdeep Singh Sidhu aka Sidhu Moosewala gathered in grain market of Mansa to attend his Antim Ardas Samagam and pay him a warm tribute.
All arrangements made to accommodate the attendees turned inadequate as the Mansa town was flooded with the people. Traffic jams of more than 10 kms on all the roads leading to the town were witnessed. There was record gathering of the sangat in the Samagam which was managed by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) very well. Langar was also organized by the SGPC. Groups of sangat organized chhabeels of cold sweet water for the attendees in the scorching heat.
The people, especially youngsters were seen having their eyes teary as they reached the venue of the Samagam which was also attended by top personalities of all fields. Hazoori ragis of Sri Darbar Sahib performed gurbani kirtan. Gurdwara Fatehgarh Sahib head granthi Giani Harpal Singh delivered ‘Gurmat Vichar’ and made everyone emotional by putting light on the personality of Moosewala and his love for Sikhi. He hailed his mother who taught him the importance of kes (hairs) and took care of them till his last journey.
At last, Moosewala’s parents addressed the sangat in emotional words. His mother Charan Kaur appealed to those who love him a lot, to plant a tree to keep his memory alive. His father Balkaur Singh appealed to the governments to deal with this kind of violence which is claiming live of our youngsters, with strong hands.
