‘Innocent must not be harassed, instances of Sikh youths being falsely booked there’: Khaira on Mohali blast

Bholath MLA and former leader of opposition Sukhpal Singh Khaira has once again raised voice for protection of human rights of the Sikh people living in Punjab on the issue of Mohali blast, apprehending that the Sikh youths may falsely be implicated by the Punjab Police and Indian agencies to cover their failures and deflect public wrath.

Khaira who tried to save life the innocent youth implicated falsely under draconian Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and sedition law in past, said in a tweet, “Mohali blast is condemnable & those responsible shd be punished. But it must be ensured that innocents are not harassed. There have been instances in past where innocent Sikh youths were falsely implicated to cover failures of d police & intelligence & also to deflect public wrath”.(sic.)

Later on, he also expressed his views in detain on Facebook live. He recalled several instances from past, where innocent Sikh youths were tortured. He remembered Bargari sacrilege incident after which two real brother from Panjgrain village of Fridkot district were arrested by the Police and given third degree torture. Later, they were released under the public pressure. He said such acts must not be repeated.
